Sports Memorabilia

Reggie Jackson Signed BaseballEverybody wants an autographed shirt or ball. Those are boring.

Here are five sports-related items I’d love to have for my collection.

5) A rainbow-colored Afro – For those of us in our late thirties, you can’t help but remember the guy who would stand in the end zone behind the goal posts on extra points and directly in the line of sight of the cameras holding the John 3:16 signs. The sign was his message, but what always caught your attention was his rainbow-colored Afro wig. I think it’d be worth something to own one of those wigs. Last I heard it would probably be difficult to get a wig from Rollen Stewart, aka “Rock ‘n Rollen” or “Rainbow Man.” That’s because he is currently serving out a life sentence in jail on kidnapping charges.

Sports Agent In Charge

Jason Atchley

Jason Atchley

This former Longhorn football player has turned his dream into a reality. Now he’s trying to do the same for his clients.

Like much of the male population, Jason Atchley considers himself an avid sports fan. Like a true Texan, he loves football. That’s where the similarities stop. Atchley isn’t like the average sports fan. In 1989, instead of attending the University of Texas and going to watch Longhorn football games as a student from the comfort of a seat in Memorial Stadium, Atchley decided to walk on as a cornerback.

Austin Aztex Soccer Player A.J. Godbolt

A.J. Godbolt was in the business of assists as a starter for the University of Maryland soccer squad from 2001 through 2006. Godbolt racked up an impressive 19 assists in 39 starts with the Terrapins but scored only two goals in 60 total matches.

Now, as a starting midfielder for the first-year Austin Aztex, Godbolt is getting back to what he does best: putting the ball in the back of the net. Godbolt already has two tallies for the Aztex through nine regular-season matches.

The Die-Hard Fan’s Guide to Longhorn Football

If anyone knows anything about delivering information to die hard University of Texas football fans, it’s Orangebloods.com founder and owner Geoff Ketchum. For a decade Ketchum’s web site has provided year-round coverage of anything and everything Longhorn football. This football season Ketchum has added to his repertoire with the release of his new book, “The Die-Hard Fan’s Guide to Longhorn Football.” CCSR  caught up with the recruiting guru-radio personality to find out about his newest endeavor and what he hopes Longhorn fans will get out of his new book.
